Visiting Chiapas

Hey there!
This past weekend I got to visit one of Chiapas' top tourist spots: the Chiflon waterfalls.
A couple of hours away from Tuxtla gutierrez, you can find these cascades in the middle of the chiapanecan jungle. I went with my new host family and it really is a wonderful place. You start at the bottom of the waterfall where there are endless little pools of turquoise/deepblue water, and walk all away near to the biggest fall.
One of the truely amazing things about this is that there are no restrictions: you can go anywhere, swin anywhere you want and because it isn't the high season, there was almost nobody visiting the location.
We were swimming in our private paradise, with a temperature of 40°C.
Because every day is a hot day in Tuxtla: 35-40°C is the norm around midday. And the worst part is that it isn't the raining season yet, which means that it does not really cool down before 10pm.... Sweat, sweat and more sweat... But i'm already pretty used to it.
One of the cool things about this season is that it is MANGO season! Now this really gets me excited haha. There is such an abundance of this fruit in this region of mexico, the price per kilo is like €0,50!! We have a lot of mangos at home and i think i have been eating 2 mangos daily for the past two weeks haha!
And there are an eternity of mango species, go ask them about that in Chahuites, Oaxaca (a town relatively the biggest exporter of mango worldwide, with a population of less than 1000 inhabitants). Mango piña, mango comun, mango manzana, mango atufo, mango thommy and so on and so on. And don't start about telling me that there is only one type of banana haha. I think the amount of fruit species are multiplicated by 200 in this region of Mexico.
Well that was it then, i'll put some pictures in the blog so you can enjoy El chiflon. Tomorrow is the day there will only be 2(!!!) months left for me and my friends are already crying.... But so be it, i will definitely see them again, sure of that.
